Don't judge a thing until you know what's inside it Don't push me - I'll fight it Never gonna give in - never gonna give it up no If you can't catch a wave then you're never gonna ride it You can't come uninvited Never gonna give in - never gonna give it up no You can't take me I'm free
The wild mare breaks out of the staring gate with such force that I am nearly tossed out of the saddle. I quickly regain my balance and get back up on her neck, resting my hands on it.
She sure is the fiesty on in the starting gate. First...I had to get her in there, which was a pain of many sorts. Then I had to keep her in there until Frank released her. This was the real task. Kodi slammed my legs into the sides of the gates and kicked out repetively. Finally though, she was free.
We're now flying around the track, covering ground so fast that I can't see my stopwatch to see what kind of time we're making. The sun is high in the sky and the turf is still slick from yesterday's rain. I screwed studs into Kodi's shoes, though, so she should be fine. Famous last words, right?
Kodi came galloping down the final stretch with hardly a drp of sweat on her. She was passionate about running, expcially when she got to break from the gate. We were at and over the finish line in 1:52:20. That's a pretty darned fast mile for a mare who's been off.
Yes, Kodi is definatly ready. It's time to enter her in some of the biggest races of her life. [/blockquote]
